Spent the afternoon at lake lowell on Thursday. Arrived around 1:15, in
the water by 1:45. Rigged my 8.5, 135L, 51cm, the water level is the
highest I have ever seen in eight years. It was about 50' from the
parking lot. I had to walk out chest deep before I could launch,
guessing water temp to be around 48 to 50, maybe 52, a bit cold for
lowell this time of year. Wind was 12 - 15 on the low end 16 - 21 on
the high end, rarely slogged, mostly kept moving right along, planned
about half the time. Wind started to drop off around 4:30, was out by
5. Had a fun first day!
