Jim Tighe reports:
What a beautiful day. 8:20 at the spillway was 14-20mph, 61 degrees.
Chris L Was already up the canyon probably on his 5.5. I found a batten
(a little short but not bad ) and the 6.0 was good again. 5-6 kiters.
All were flying. I think I had a sign on my sail that said "Jump Me".
Eddy and Steve both flew overhead. Tom C did some nice carving turns
around me while I was in the water. The board jumping was pretty good
today with some nice swell coming in. The edges are starting to smooth
out for nice planning jibes. Made duck jibes on both sides today,
Yoo-hoo! Got off the water at 10 AM but could have sailed longer. The
kiters looked good at 10:30 as I crossed the dam. I did have some
issues getting through the Turner Lull but made the Hula dance work to
get home finally.
Chris Lee adds:
I was on my 5.0 and I was powered up pretty much all the time. I was on
the water before 8:00 a.m. and sailed for about an hour. It was best
during the first half an hour - stronger and steadier than yesterday,
without the clouds. I would have stayed longer but had to get to work
and it was backing off a little for my 5.0 even though I still had no
problem planing.
