Steve L reports on "Fathers Day at RCR":
arrived 2:30, Mtn H reporting 20G31 but at one point we got 30G40.
Caution! Although RCR looks 3 times larger then ICR its very shallow in
places and not just around the shore. You could easily take off a
fin.
More detail to the kiters:
Hawk and I met at CJ no wind went to The Bruneau Bridge not enough wind,
went to RCR... 10m little board. big air. flat flat water but caution
very shallow in places. Dropped my kite and when it launched I broke 3
lines, they must of caught on a rock or something under the water .
And Hawk says"RCR is about done for... looking more like a mud puddle everyday...."
Finally, Jim Tighe reports on some fun found on the Snake R.: Fathers day was a success at CJ. My son (David) and I arrived at CJ around 3pm and the wind was surprisingly NOT THERE. We scouted the area and found a couple of kiters and Rod was there to sail. So we got out the 6M sail and the "go board" and I got to sail finally. Took one reach and came back in to get the 7.5 sail. WOW the wind came up a little and rod and I had a great time for over an hour. I gave the sail to David. He got launched over the handle bars a couple of times. I think we have another one hooked. We arrived home around 8 pm. CJ was just what the Dr ordered. There were about 5 kiters but only one or two at a time on the water. Great day.
